Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic signed Tuesday in Belgrade with German Ambassador to Serbia Anke Konrad a joint statement of intent between the Serbian President’s Office and the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.

Vucic wrote on Instagram that this institutional partnership will additionally help boost the excellent economic and trade cooperation between Serbia and Germany.

“Special emphasis was placed on the development of a strategy for Serbia’s industrial policy in line with the European Union Green Deal, along with strengthening the corresponding supply chains,” said the Serbian President.

He noted that this kind of partnership was of immense importance for Serbia because it will contribute to even stronger economic growth.

The signing of the joint statement comes just weeks after President Vucic heavily criticized German Ambassador to Pristina Jorn Rohde and Berlin’s politics in the region.

“Germany wants full dominance in the Balkans,” said Vucic at the time, adding that he “always knew someone was pushing Kurti in his instability.”
