Vucic: Slovenia one of Serbia’s most important economic partners

The office quoted Vucic as saying that Serbia is satisfied with the current level of bilateral relations, since Slovenia is one of Serbia’s most important economic partners, while the two officials said there are possibilities for intensifying trade and investment cooperation.

Vucic and Fajon also addressed the situation in Kosovo and Metohija (the official name for what the Serbian authorities consider to be the country’s southern province), said the President’s office. Vucic said Belgrade is fully committed to the European Union (EU) – mediated dialogue and to finding compromise solutions to this issue while honoring the basic principles of international law and the legally binding UN Security Council Resolution 1244.

The Serbian President said that Serbia’s foreign policy activities are strongly focused on improving regional cooperation and that, as far as Serbia is concerned, preserving stability in the region is key.

Vucic thanked Fajon for Slovenia’s strong and continuous support to Serbia in the European integration process, both at the political level and through training programs, development and expert assistance, said the office press release.

It added that Minister Fajon said Slovenia is positively oriented towards the European path of both Serbia and the entire Western Balkans region.

The press release quoted Fajon as saying that it is in both countries’ interest to continue good bilateral cooperation and develop economic relations and that Serbia can always count on Slovenia’s support in the European integration process.
