Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic expressed hope for clearer European Union (EU) enlargement policies during a lunch meeting with EU ambassadors, emphasizing that such clarity would promote stability and development throughout the region.
“I particularly emphasized the hope of regional countries that EU enlargement policy will become clearer and more vigorous, which would further encourage stability and development in our countries. We also hope that Poland, as the next country to take on the challenging responsibility of the EU presidency, will make European integration one of its priorities,” Vucic wrote on Instagram.
He added that Serbia remains committed to EU membership.
“I emphasized the importance of dialogue and partnership between Serbia and the EU, as well as our country’s dedication to maintaining a responsible and serious approach toward our strategic foreign policy goal of Union membership,” Vucic wrote.
The lunch meeting was hosted by the Hungarian ambassador to Serbia to mark the end of Hungary’s EU presidency term.
