“Excellent meeting with James O’Brien and Angelina Eichhorst focusing on political opportunities in the region, the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija and strengthening cooperation in a number of areas. We exchanged opinions on the role of Serbia in the Western Balkans and in Europe,” Vucic wrote in an Instagram post.
He added that he informed them about the situation in Kosovo and his concern for the Serbs. “I stressed the need for greater US engagement on this issue, since stronger support and more active participation of the United States could contribute to stability and security in the region,” the post said.
“I expressed my readiness to seek solutions for the sustainable and lasting stability and prosperity of the Western Balkans, as well as the hope that the dynamics of dialogue and regional cooperation will continue with the support of the USA and EU,” Vucic wrote after his meeting in Belgrade with Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs O'Brien and Managing Director of the European External Action Service Eichhorst.
