Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met Friday with US Ambassador to Belgrade Christopher Hill to inform him about the latest rounds of talks between Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels.

"We agreed that urgent formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities is of priority importance, as well as that much more effort, work and discussions are needed to resolve the accumulated problems in everyday life of citizens in Kosovo and Metohija," the President wrote on Instagram. (Kosovo and Metohija is the official name for what the Serbian authorities consider to be the country’s southern province).

Vucic thanked the Ambassador for the invitation to attend the coming Summit for Democracy that will be held online in March this year, and which will focus “not only on the importance of democratic values in today’s world, but also on global economic perspectives,” said the Instagram post.

"We also exchanged views on Serbia's plans regarding diversification of energy sources and energy efficiency, but also on many other matters of mutual interest,” Vucic added.

The Serbian President also had a meeting on Friday with UK Ambassador to Belgrade Sian MacLeod at which they discussed further steps aimed at the speedy formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities in Kosovo and the details of the Belgrade-Pristina talks recently held in Brussels.

"We also discussed intensifying economic cooperation as there is much room for an increase of British investments in Serbia, as well as for growth of trade," Vucic posted on Instagram.

The Serbian President thanked Ambassador MacLeod for the invitation to attend the coronation ceremony of King Charles III, noting that this was a great honor for Serbia.
