Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said elections could take place but added that he won’t allow a transitional government, the pro-government Tanjug agency reported. Pročitaj više

„There may be elections but there will never be a transitional government,“ Vucic said speaking live on the pro-regime TV Pink, adding that the electorate does not want the opposition. He said that he will not allow the opposition to win power in street protests.

„Even (PM) Milos Vucevic, or anyone else, will not be able to make a decision in favour of a transitional government because there will always be a sufficient majority in the parliament that will listen to its former president (of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party). I am telling you, I have only one principle – I will not let the worst scum govern Serbia. They can govern it when they win in elections – and they never will,“ Vucic is reported to have said.

Vucic claimed that the student protests had support from the region and name former Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic and Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti along with officials in neighboring Bosnia-Herzegovina who he said wanted to see the Serbian authorities toppled. He said Croatian intelligence agencies had influence with the protests at NGO level, with direct or indirect support from Western intelligence agencies in Europe and the USA.

He said a large part of the students participating in the protests were good children who were patriots.
