Vucic's plan presentation was broadcast live by over 40 television stations in Serbia

In a statement, BIRODI adds that those media broadcast a "pseudo-event" and they requested that, per the Law on Public Information and Media and the Law on Electronic Media, REM review whether media pluralism in Serbia has been stifled.

The presentation of Serbia's comprehensive development plan, which President Aleksandar Vucic called "Serbia 2027 - a leap into the future," was broadcast live by 41 television stations that can be watched in Telekom's cable offer, as counted by the Bureau of Social Research (BIRODI). That number also includes televisions that have national coverage: RTS 1, Pink, Prva and Happy.

"This is empirical evidence that economically unsustainable media and journalists who are not ready to respect the professional code are an important pillar of the current government because they have been turned into means of propaganda, i.e. propagandists," Zoran Gavrilovic, executive director of BIRODI, told Vreme.

During the multimedia performance, accompanied by the outgoing Prime Minister and some ministers, Vuic listed figures, completed and planned projects, and listed successes that will culminate in 2027 when the Expo exhibition will take place.

"A media barbell has been established over Serbia, which has the task of producing optimism among Serbia Progressive Party (SNS) voters, because they are the least satisfied with their material position compared to abstainers and opposition voters," Gavrilovic explained.

According to him, this event served to inject optimism.

"To make everything sadder," Gavrilovic concluded, "there was a violation of the Constitution of Serbia because the President was doing the government's job. All this raises the question of the violation of media pluralism, the (non)existence of which, according to the Law, should be established by the REM".
