Vulin: CIA chief told me I’m not a criminal or a Russian agent

Addressing Vulin, People’s Movement of Serbia MP Slavica Radovanovic said “you cannot drive around in a car linked to serious organized crime and then wonder why you’re banned from entering America.”

Vulin said the most important thing seems to be the fact that he has been banned from entering the US.

“The most important thing here is that I have been banned from entering the US. The CIA, darling. The CIA banned me. And when the CIA bans you? That’s it. Case closed. As for whether the CIA is right or not? Who cares?” Vulin said.
He then recounted what he claims was a conversation with the CIA chief.

“He told me, Mr. Vulin, we know you are not a Russian agent, or a criminal, but you are strategically opposed to my government’s positions. True. Absolutely true. Because his government’s strategic plans are for us to recognize Kosovo, to turn our back on Republika Srpska and to impose sanctions on the Russian Federation. None of that will happen as long as (Serbian President Aleksandar) Vucic leads Serbia and I am in the Serbian Government. Period,” said Vulin.

Nova.rs noted that Aleksandar Vulin has been under US sanctions since July 2023. He is suspected of corrupt dealings, which facilitate Russian malign activities in Serbia and the region.

The US Treasury Department said in a press release that Vulin has been implicated in transnational organized crime, illegal narcotics operations, and misuse of public office.

He has used his public positions to support Russia, facilitating Russia’s malign activities that degrade the security and stability of the Western Balkans and providing Russia a platform to further its influence in the region,” it said.

All his property and interest in property in the US are blocked, said the US.

“All property and interests in property of the designated person described above that are in the United States or in the possession or control of U.S. persons are blocked and must be reported to OFAC. In addition, any entities that are owned, directly or indirectly, individually or in the aggregate, 50 percent or more by one or more blocked persons are also blocked,” said the Department of the Treasury.

In addition, all transactions by US persons within (or transiting) the United States that involve any property or interests in property of designated or otherwise blocked persons are prohibited unless authorized by a general or specific license issued by OFAC, or exempt, it added.
