Serbia’s Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin said that the country is on the path to integration into the European Union, but that Serbia is not the one deciding the pace of the process. Pročitaj više
„If the recognition of the so-called Kosovo, the obligation to facilitate same-sex marriages or participation in the conflict with Russia and China awaits us on this path, we should not even go that way,“ said Vulin in an interview for Vecernje Novosti.
He emphasized that „until they tell us that, it is up to us to stick to our military neutrality, reforms that suit us and to try to strengthen Serbia for the time to come“.
When asked if, by purchasing the French „Rafale“ planes, Serbia made the biggest turn towards the West so far, Vulin said that it was a pragmatic decision and not a political one and that Serbia will defend its skies with both those planes and “MiGs”.
He stated that the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, during their recent meeting in Russia, did not mention the French planes, „but he did mention the trade exchange, the gas arrangement and Russia’s support for every Serbian struggle“.
