Serbian Internal Affairs Minister Aleksandar Vulin said on Friday that he knows the state can count on every member of the security services in the hard times to come.

“There are hard times ahead, we don’t know what the next days will bring but I do know that the state of Serbia can count on every member of the security services and this is one of the way to show that they can count on their Serbia,” Vulin told a ceremony to present housing to security services personnel in Novi Sad.

Vulin, a close associate of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, was at the ceremony with Novi Sad Mayor Milos Vucevic who was shortlisted for the post of prime minister designate by the president. Vucevic is a high-ranking official of Vucic’s Serbian Progressive Party (SNS).

Vucevic said that housing is one way for the state to pay its debt to security services personnel. “I believe that changes not just the situation in society but also the attitude towards the people keeping safe the citizens of Serbia, our borders and maintaining security,” he said.

The Serbian government has been securing housing for security services personnel under favorable conditions.
