Hours after an opposition politician threw white paint on a mural celebrating Ratko Mladic, convicted war criminal, young rightists in Belgrade washed the paint, and the mural was visible again on Wednesday.

During the mural cleaning, people who opposed it went into a verbal conflict with young people who used water and sponge to remove the paint.
No physical incident occurred. The police who guarded the mural on Tuesday were not visible.

President Aleksandar Vucic told reporters that the police preserved peace in the city by preventing human rights activists and rightist groups from attacking each other.

However, the nine MEPs saw it differently and condemned him and his regime for guarding the war criminal mural.
