Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said Serbia will recover after “these three months of blockades, destruction, idleness, irresponsibility, and devastation,” adding that he believes Serbia will this year rank among the top three countries in Europe in terms of growth rate.

At a gathering of his supporters in Bor, Vucic accused United Media of spreading hatred and lies.

He announced a rally of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) supporters in Belgrade, emphasizing that he will invite all of Serbia to the capital.

“We will endure this, they destroyed three months, ruined the economy in three months, but we will manage to rise,” Vucic said in talks with locals at the Culture Center in Krepoljin, during his visit to the Zajecar and Bor districts, which began on Friday.

He emphasized that this is important for higher wages and income, and for municipalities that have large debts to utility companies.

“We are the ones who must invest money from other parts of Serbia. That is why we need a healthy Serbia that works, one that looks to the future,” Vucic said.

He described the student protests as “evil that attacked us from abroad and wants to destroy Serbia.”

“All you need to do is look at those who have joined forces in supporting all those who are against Serbia, starting with (Kosovo Prime Minister) Albin Kurti, to the Croats and Sarajevo, and you’ll understand everything,” Vucic said.

The Serbian president said the student protestors are not interested in demands, but want a color revolution. They should have told this to the people right away - we want Vucic’s head - the president said in Bor, adding that, “after every failed color revolution, there is always a counter-revolution that will restore order in the country.”

Vucic said he will soon “invite all of Serbia” to Belgrade to show that Serbia is not “a handful of oats.”

Following mass protest rallies held in the cities of Novi Sad, Kragujevac and Nis, students protesters, who have been protesting and blockading university faculties since end of November, have announced a new protest rally for March 15 in Belgrade.
