"What did Trump do for Serbia? What did he do for Vucic?," asked Jaksic and pointed out that the Washington Agreement was signed in the interests of Trump and his Middle East policy, and that it was a fiasco for Serbia.
In case Trump enters the White House, Jaksic believes he would start a serious economic war with China, which could be bad for Serbia, since China has many investments in the country.

"He will punish us, we rejoice and invoke the victory of someone who will be cruel to us", said Jaksic.

He said that regions such as the Western Balkans are areas where U.S. policy does not need to change much and that it would not make a lot of difference for the region whether Republicans or Democrats are in power.

However, he does not believe that the U.S. would completely forget about the Western Balkans.

"The Americans are obviously tired of the European Union, which here for decades only offers promises and nice words, and absolutely nothing is solved", Jaksic argued and pointed out that neither the problem of Kosovo nor the problem of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been solved.

Milivojevic said that it is precisely thanks to the Americans that Serbia has the government it has, arguing that elections which legitimized Vucic’s rule were held on June 2 thanks to them. He also said that the U.S. has taken over the role of the EU in the region.

"I don't know what Vucic expects now from Trump”, he said, arguing that it is not likely that Trump will change U.S. policy in the region or remove Vucic’s associates from the U.S. blacklist.
