The United States is monitoring the Serbian military deployment along the border of Kosovo and calls on Belgrade to withdraw the forces and actively assist in the investigation into what happened in the September 24 attack in the Banjska village in Kosovo when a Kosovo police officer was killed, national security advisor John Kirby told press at the White House.

Kirby said the US was monitoring what he called a large Serbian military deployment along the border with Kosovo that includes advanced artillery, tanks, and mechanized infantry units.

We believe that this is a very destabilizing development, Kirby told a media conference, reported Voice of America.

He added that the US has no detailed intelligence information on the purpose of the deployment.
