Opposition official Miladin Krstic said that election fraud was committed in Zajecar, adding that the opposition will not allow it. He said the opposition can document the large number of irregularities, adding that this includes a recording of a family who said they were paid to vote.
Commission Chairman Nenad Dinulovic said that the count showed that President Aleksandar Vucic’s SNS won 14,199 votes or 47.13% giving it 27 seats on the city council. He added that the opposition ticket Changes We Believe In won 10,312 votes or 34.23% giving it 19 seats. The opposition United To Save Zajecar won 2,284 votes or 7.58% giving it 4 seats on the 50 seat council.
All other party tickets, including Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic’s SPS, failed to win enough votes for council seats.
