Zastava Firearms union warns of major crisis

The union said urgent measures are needed to stabilise operations, resolve financial difficulties and secure regular wage payments. Workers have blamed recent problems on export restrictions and delays in obtaining export permits, which have affected the company’s business.

The union called for talks with management and the government, as well as possible financial support to help the Kragujevac-based manufacturer deal with the crisis. Zastava Firearms has historically relied heavily on exports.
