Workers at the Chinese Zijin Copper Serbia staged protest in front of company buildings in the cities of Bor and Majdanpek on Thursday.
The protests were staged at four gates into the Zijin buildings. The workers are demanding pay raises to meet inflation. Management has offered a 10 percent raise but the protesters are demanding a raise of 14.3 percent.
Zijin took over what was once the RTB Bor copper mining and smelting plant in eastern Serbia.
The protest comes after talks failed in the Mining and Energy Ministry.
